Infant Toddler Center (ITC)
Located on the campus of Samohi

Infant Room
6 weeks to 18 months
7:30am – 4:30pm daily

• RIE-based philosophy which emphasizes respectful caregiving and developing relationship-based interactions with infants

• Staff follows each child’s schedule for eating, napping, and playing but also provide daily indoor and outdoor learning opportunities 

• Minimum of 1:4 ratio of staff to children

• Breakfast, Lunch, snack provided

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance

Toddler Room
18 months to 35 months
7:30am – 4:30pm daily

• The Toddler Room follows the principles of Respect, Trust, Agency and Authenticity for each child as they develop

• Daily adventures with staff throughout the Samohi campus

• Minimum of 1:6 ratio of staff to children

• Breakfast, Lunch, snack provided

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance

Preschools
Part Day Programs (3 hours - no nap)
John Adams Preschool, Lincoln Child Development Center (LCDC), McKinley Elementary

• Serving children ages 2.9 – 4 years

• Snack provided

• Minimum of 1:8 ratio of staff to children

• Our programs are Reggio-Inspired, STEAM-Enhanced and District-Aligned 

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance

Extended Day Programs (6 hours with a nap)
Edison Seaside, McKinley Seaside Collaborative, Webster Seaside Collaborative

• Serving children ages 2.9 – 4 years

• Lunch and snack provided

• Minimum of 1:8 ratio of staff to children

• Our programs are Reggio-Inspired, STEAM-Enhanced and District-Aligned 

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance

Full Day Programs (10+ hours with nap)
Washington West

• Serving children ages 2.9 – 4 years

• Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack provided

• Minimum of 1:8 ratio of staff to children

• Our programs are Reggio-Inspired, STEAM-Enhanced and District-Aligned

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

• Our district-based TK program is on every elementary school campus in SMMUSD

• For the 25-26 school year, children must be 4 by September 1st, 2025

• TK is a 5-hour daily program taught by credentialed teachers

• Minimum of 1:12 ratio in the 24-25 school year; may move to a 1:10 ratio in 25-26

• Our programs are Reggio-Inspired, STEAM-Enhanced and District-Aligned

• This is a free district funded program

School Age Programs (SAP)

• Our district-based before and after school program is on every Santa Monica elementary school campus

• We serve families from 7am – start of school and from school dismissal – 6pm daily

• During before school care, we serve students TK – 5th grade

• During after school care, we serve students TK – 3rd grade

• Minimum ratio of 1:10 for TK/K

• Minimum ratio of 1:14 for 1st – 3rd

• This is a fee-based program, but families can qualify for subsidized financial assistance
