Santa Monica Early Childhood Task Force advances a civic vision to support young children, and move resources and stakeholders to effective action.
For over 40 years, we have been reducing barriers to access and easing the financial burden of child care and early education for Santa Monica families; highlighting the dire need for high-quality, affordable child care, especially for infants and toddlers; and increasing collaboration, funding, and support systems in our community for young children and their families.
Childcare is essential; affordable and accessible high quality child care enables parents (especially mothers) to participate in the workforce and children to thrive.
Sign up for meeting announcements and to be part of our Santa Monica Early Childhood Action Network. When an important issue comes up, we'll let you know when a few minutes of your time can make a big difference.
Meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday of every other month from 1-2:30pm via Zoom. Share information, collaborate, and learn from guest speakers about local issues affecting our young children.
The Steering Committee leads efforts to identify and advance the Task Force's big goals: increasing access to high quality, affordable early childhood education, raising public awareness and civic investment in 0-5, and supporting providers and the workforce.
